01 · The Challenge

What needed to be solved

Membership renewals ran through a 15-year-old association management system that couldn't integrate with modern payment methods. Certification tracking lived in Excel; conference ticketing was a separate vendor with no SSO. Staff manually reconciled member tiers across systems every month — errors frustrated members and delayed credential renewals ahead of a federal licensing deadline.

How we built it

We shipped a Next.js member portal with SSO, role-based dashboards for chapters and national admins, Stripe subscriptions with proration, and automated CEU/credential renewal reminders. Conference registration, sponsor booths, and session booking moved into the same platform with capacity limits and waitlists. We migrated 12 years of member history and de-duplicated records using deterministic match rules plus staff review queues.
